"What did you get for Christmas?"
Oh, my! It’s a new year! Where did 2018 go? I’m sure we all have various and sundry stories we can share about 2018! It is highly probable that in a few days, when the institutions of learning reopen, two subjects will be discussed, maybe at great length! One is, “Look what I got for Christmas!” The other: “What did you get for Christmas.
As we enter our last month of this year we are reminded on every hand of the precious Gift of God's love to all mankind in the form of a little baby boy, born in a lowly manger because there was no room at the inn. From the goodness of the Innkeepers heart space was provided in the stable. Joseph was grateful for this.
Jesus knows how you feel!
Are you financially strapped? Jesus knows how you feel. He said He didn't have a place to lay His head. Do you feel taken advantage of? Jesus paid taxes to a foreign emperor. But what if your problem is the opposite? You have a successful business to run. Can Jesus relate? Absolutely. He recruited and oversaw His own organization.
STOP WORRYING AND START PRAYING & TRUSTING GOD
TODAY’S SCRIPTURES: Matthew 6:25-34 it says, 25 Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing.
Psalm 1 King James Version (KJV)
1Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Choose for yourselves
Our lives are like icebergs. Only 15 percent is visible, that's reputation. The rest, our character, is below the surface, hidden. Character is what we think but never share. It's what we do when no one's watching. It's how we react to everyday aggravations. It's how we handle failure- and success. The thing that has made us what we are is our choices.
Be Still and Know that I Am God
by: Pastor Tquita Q. Brown
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. -Psalms 46:10 Kjv
Sometimes life gets noisy! When life gets noisy, we get busy trying to fix every piece of the missing puzzle to quiet it down, even things we cannot control. It's in our nature at times to "save the day.
My Help Comes from the Lord
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Psalm 121 I will lift up my eyes to the hills from whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. 3 He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. 4 Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade at your right hand.
James 2:20; “Faith without works is dead.” Faith is creative. Faith is innovative. Faith is inventive. It is full of inventions. Faith makes things happen. Faith makes a way. It is easy to mumble, grumble, and complain. It is easy to bad-mouth or poor-mouth. But where are the people of faith that will take action? Faith without works is dead! Faith without corresponding actions is dead.
Freedom- John 8:36; So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.
True freedom is not gained through government legislation or any man authored ideas. True Freedom begins within your spirit with a true heartfelt relationship with Jesus Christ. Will you receive true freedom as a gift from God, by faith in Jesus Christ? This freedom is not superficial neither is it based on certain conditions.
Understanding Life’s Challenges
Have you ever thought; Life seams to be so unfair. I have! It appears, the good suffer while the bad prosper, or the good die young while a lot of evil people seem to live on forever. Many times such thinking, comes as a result of our difficult moments or a tragedy.
Romans chapter one and verse eight says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”(NKJV) Condemnation in this context is simply passing judgment or rendering a verdict against the accused.
As we enter this spring season we can expect new life to spring forth. Flowers blooming, birds
singing and our children and grandchildren playing in the parks. God wants our lives to spring
forth, to bloom as the flowers do, to enjoy the fellowship of our friends and loved one. To have
the full confidence that God says we “would prosper and be in good health even as our soul
1 Timothy 6:11-12
The Good Fight of Faith
“11 But as for you, man of God, shun all this; pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life, to which you were called and for which you made?? the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
In the book of 1 Samuel, chapter fifteen and verse twenty-two, the prophet Samuel makes this statement. “Has the Lord as great a delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.” The word obey in this verse carries an interesting definition when looked at it in its original form.
Father God thank you for protecting the officers of the Beaumont Police Department. I thank you that they are safe each and every day as they protect and serve the citizens of our city. I thank for surrounding their families with you love and peace. I thank you Father that they ordained by you as ministers of safety for our city.

Stress in the workplace.
Did you know the American Institute of Stress opens its online article on stress with this paragraph?
Numerous studies show that job stress is by far the major source of stress for American adults and that it has escalated progressively over the past few decades.
A person is obligated to say, “The world was created for me.” [Talmud] We are obligated to be aware of our own greatness. Feel proud that you are created in the image of God. Pride in the awareness of the greatness and elevation of your soul is not only proper, but it is actually an obligation. It is a binding duty to recognize your virtues and to live with this awareness.
In John 14:27, Jesus says,
"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful." (NASU)
With this verse in mind, let me say to all of you, Happy New Year!
May the fire of God's love warm your heart.
Yes, You Can!
This phrase and others like it are often used as encouragements to others when things get tough.
All of us understand that life is a struggle at best.
At times, it is downright difficult.
What to do?
The Old Testament prophet Habakkuk informs us of the best available help.
Eph5:18b.Says but be filled with the Spirit. We are commanded to be filled with the Spirit so there is no room for anything else. Thus, we are totally controlled by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, the filling of the Holy Spirit is an ongoing daily experience. We need to be continually filled with the Holy Spirit because we are "leaky vessels.
“Hear Am I; Send Me”
Rabbi Joshua S. Taub, D.D.
And then I heard the voice of God saying, "Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I; send me." [Isaiah 6:8]
I love these words from Isaiah.
Be careful for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6&7.
Acts 6:1-8. Each of us has a story. That story explains who we are and how we came to be who we are. The story includes the tragedies and victories that have shaped us. Parts of your story may make you swell with pride (whether of the godly or ungodly kind); parts of your story may make you cringe with shame.
THE IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER
How important is it to pray for yourself, others, and your enemies? Matthew 25:41 says, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Satan tempts Jesus in the wilderness - Matthew 4:1-11, yet he remained obedient to God.
DO YOU LOOK AT THINGS ACCORDING TO THE OUTWARD APPEARANCE? 2 CORINTHIANS 10:7 NKJV
"Take Another Look"
Paul makes it clear that there are qualities we haven’t yet discovered or discerned in some of the people around us. Most of our conclusions are based on limited and often flawed information. God saw qualities in David his own family didn’t recognise. To them he was just a shepherd boy.
Heavenly Father, we thank thee for your goodness, your mercy and your amazing Grace that reaches down to fallen man. We ask for your heavenly protection upon our officers, the established and ordained protectors of our safety and we'll being. We ask that your perfect peace to be upon them and their families.

Happy New Year!
How many times have you heard that? How many years have you enjoyed complete happiness?
Happiness is a fleeting emotion. Happiness is based on one’s personal satisfaction of immediate circumstances. Happiness last as long as those immediate circumstances remain effective. I believe that it is safe to say that a constant state of happiness cannot be maintained.
EXPECT the blessing of God’s Goodness today. There is a blessing with your name on it today and everyday. Live with Exception Of Receiving Daily Goodness.
Psalm 68:19 KJV
Blessed be the Lord, who daliy loath us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah, “ pause, and think of that. "
You are Loaded Up With God’s Blessings.
We thank God for divinely protecting the men and women of our police department. God has given each of you grace to fulfill your ministry as a police officer. We pray that every officer comes to know the Lord Jesus Christ. May the blood of Jesus Christ cover each officer and their family. May you be blessed in everything you do in Jesus name.
Romans 13:1-3 says:
All of you must obey those who rule over you. There are no authorities except the ones God has chosen. Those who now rule have been chosen by God. 2 So whoever opposes the authorities opposes leaders whom God has appointed. Those who do that will be judged. 3 If you do what is right, you won’t need to be afraid of your rulers. But watch out if you do what is wrong.
Pray Hard, Stay Alert!
From my perspective, I believe that much of what we are aware of concerning the ills and impact of world conditions and circumstances are not really different from bygone years. It’s just that the intensity and irritation factors are inching up, sometimes noticeably. And, it may very well be that we are suffering from that well known communicable disease call TMI.
Bible Text: Matthew 5: 9... “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children
Devotional Thought: “HE, called us Peacemakers!”
What a privilege! What a purposeful part to fulfill! HE (JESUS) called me (us) peacemakers...
“A painting that once hung in a Florence, Italy gallery was named PEACE.
Don’t’ forget to put on your invisible Armor
Ephesians 6:13: Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and having done all the [crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place]. (Amp)
Paul reminds us that because of evil and the strategies of the adversary we are engaged in an active battle every day.

GOD HAS SEEN MY AFFLICTION. GENESIS 31:42 NKJV
The names of God - El Roi
Praise God for His mercy! Praise Him for His loving-kindness! Praise Him for being deeply concerned about His people! El Roi is "The God Who Sees", a God Who has an intense passion for His creation.
The Scripture given by Dr. Castile Colbert for July Daily Devotional is the following:
Isaiah 40:31King James Version (KJV)
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
